Let the experts at Gould Well Drilling assist you to find the correct pump for your situation.
Once the well is established, the well pump and pressure tank system need to be designed to give you optimum use for your needs. Proper sizing is crucial to the construction and performance of your well system. Your system is designed to suit the needs of your household.
Factors considered when sizing your system include such things as the number of bathrooms, bedrooms, occupants and anticipated water use for extras such as swimming pools, spas or whirlpool baths, garden hydrants or number of animals in a barn. In other words, total fixture units will determine the anticipated water demand. Check out our "Needs Assessment" page to see what information we take into account for yoru project.
Proper system design and installation are the keys to efficient and dependable operation of your system. The initial cost may be somewhat higher, however in the long run a properly constructed well and correctly sized service system will result in improved efficiency, less maintenance, increase the value of your home and provide for a longer well life.
We use top of the line equipment for your system, from the Goulds and Franklin Electric submersible pumps, to the Flexcon and Well-X-Trol pressure tanks, to the Constant Pressure systems, to the Water-Right treatment units. The products that we use represent our ethic -"we're not the most expensive or the least expensive, but we use the products that we would want installed for us and do the job we would want done for us."
Typical Pump System
If you are building a larger home or one with multiple demand uses (animals, garden hydrant, extra baths), you may want to consider having us install a Franklin Electric Sub Drive system which will provide you with "constant pressure" from a well. This is the closest thing to city water pressure that you can get from a well. We need to do a well assessment to ascertain that there is adequate well yield recovery to support the system on an existing well, or take this into consideration when we are constructing yours.
With a standard system, we design the pump size and pressure tank size to properly provide your home with the pressure and volume that you need. Improperly designed systems can lead to premature pump failure or over pumping the well.
A good rule of thumb to prolong the life of your system is to "flush" the sediment from your pressure tank each year. This stops the rampant collection of sediment that can block off adequate water flow, confuses the pressure switch (brians to tell the pump to come on/turn off) creating "rapid cycling" -thus overheating the pump motor and often kills the pump.
